Welford volunteers plant 1,500 trees for local schools
On Wednesday 20 March, VolkerLaser joined a 60-strong volunteer group to plant trees at the Mary Hare School for Deaf Children.
Six VolkerLaser colleagues based at the M4 Welford project worked alongside volunteers from the local community and local businesses to kickstart the schools project focussing on support for the British hedgerows and wildlife.
Over the course of the day, 1,500 trees were planted across 230 metres, with a goal of establishing a new hedgerow knitting together existing hedgerows from Arlington Lane, along the Oxford Road to the Millenium Woods.
Well done to all involved!
"It was amazing to have your colleagues with us for the whole project. They were fantastic at planting the large trees and are a credit to VolkerLaser. We really appreciated all the effort, we're so thrilled that all the hedge line got planted. Projects like this wouldn't be possible without every volunteer."
