Ben Joyce

Managing Director
As a chartered civil engineer with over 20 years’ industry experience in design and contracting, Ben has spent 10 years with the VolkerWessels UK business, predominantly with VolkerFitzpatrick on major civil engineering projects. In addition, Ben took on the management of VolkerWessels UK’s specialist slipform paving sub-contractor, P J Davidson, in 2019 as operations director. Now, as managing director of VolkerLaser, Ben takes an extremely active role in driving the business, taking every opportunity to use our specialist skillsets to bring maximum benefits to our clients, and working to continue developing this innovative, sustainable and successful business.

Commercial Director
James became our Commercial Director in 2022 having been with VolkerWessels UK since 2010. James has extensive experience of complex and multi-disciplinary projects across the infrastructure sector, including leading roles in major joint ventures and frameworks. James is responsible for all commercial and procurement matters across VolkerLaser and ensures robust and effective commercial leadership and processes for existing and future projects.

Finance Director
Kevin oversees all financial matters in VolkerLaser, ensuring that the business unit can maximise opportunities and minimise risk. Kevin provides detailed analysis on financial performance, reporting to the VolkerWessels UK board.
Andy Gibbons

Operations Director
Joining VolkerLaser in 2019, Andy brought with him a wealth of experience in the construction industry. Andy’s portfolio boasts a number of high profile projects across the country, including the Channel Tunnel, High Speed One, Athletes Village Roads and Hinkley Point C. In his role as operations director, Andy works alongside the divisional directors to ensure the business continues to develop across all sectors.

Dave joined VolkerLaser in 2005 bringing with him over twenty years of experience of the civil engineering and specialist contractor markets. An expert in cathodic protection and concrete repair, Dave's technical expertise in structural repair solutions is second to none. Responsible for all aspects of our South division, he ensures the safe and efficient running of contracts from inception to completion.

Divisional Director
As director of our steel structures division, Craig has more than 35 years experience in the industry and has worked all over the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and the Nordics. He is also responsible for the development of our proprietary access systems, using his technical expertise in scaffolding and temporary works to identify new opportunities for the business.

Project Director
Jeff concentrates on developing VolkerLaser’s capabilities in key markets and promoting the business unit’s comprehensive suite of services. A construction professional with over 30 years’ experience, Jeff’s expertise lies in early contractor involvement; identifying and providing innovative solutions to complex structural problems during the development stages of a project. Jeff’s international experience and vast technical knowledge will provide new opportunities for the business unit to develop.

Pre-Contract and Procurement Director
Andrew joined VolkerLaser in 2003 as an accomplished commercial and operations manager with over twenty-five years experience in the construction industry; he has an extensive track record within the civil engineering sector. Andrew is technically competent with extensive knowledge in all sectors of the industry, providing commercial and legal advice across the business, both pre and post-contract; identifying, managing and mitigating risks.
Garry Dyer

Estimating and Bid Director
Garry joined VolkerLaser in January 2014, and is primarily responsible for estimating, tenders and bid submissions, successfully negotiating contracts from initial tender stage through to award. From 2002 to 2008, Garry was the estimating director, then later, the managing director of VolkerLaser’s former incarnation; Laser Civil Engineering. Garry has over fifteen years of experience of estimating for building and civil engineering projects.
