Welcoming more than 80 colleagues from across the business, the day was designed to bring together VolkerLaser's supervisors, as well as senior project managers, contracts managers and operational leads, to kick start 2023 as the year of the ‘World Class Supervisor’. Featuring the drama-based learning group, Dramanon, participants were involved in practical learning sessions and interactive brainstorming, and also received updates from the leadership team on the strategic direction of the business, and how each and every one of our supervisors plays a part in the future success of VolkerLaser.

Andy Gibbons, operations director for VolkerLaser, said: “Our supervisors are some of the most important people in our business. Every day they keep our people safe from harm and set the tone for the team. Our World Class Leaders programme is aligned with National Highways’ ‘Raising the Bar’ common intent requirements.

“This is the start of a journey, which aims to ensure we have the best supervisor in the markets we work in.”

Following positive feedback from attendees, VolkerLaser will be looking to run another training day later in the year, as well as other sessions for different groups across the business.
