VolkerLaser win at LRWA Awards

On Wednesday 20 March, VolkerLaser was awarded the ‘Liquid Roofing Project of the Year in a Buried Application’ at the annual Liquid Roofing and Waterproofing Association (LRWA) Awards.

The event held at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool, brings together one of the fastest growing sectors of the UK roofing industry in a bid to recognise quality, professionalism, dedication and the finest workmanship over the last 12 months.

VolkerLaser was awarded the project of the year for works on Battersea Power Station where we delivered the design, supply, and installation of hotmelt waterproofing and roof finishes to all three main structures. Battersea Power Station is at the heart of central London’s largest visionary new development. The £9bn project sees the creation of a vibrant, mixed-use development including a new office district, commercial space, and private and affordable homes, making it an iconic project to be part of.

Reflecting on the award, divisional director James Maher, said: “If ever an award for a project is deserved, then this is it. I am thrilled for the team that this project been recognised and it demonstrates the capability of VolkerLaser in this sector.

“The execution of this project was a very complex operation, with the interface of a number of trades on a project of immense scale. The hard work and dedication from the team was second to none throughout and they are all very deserving of this accolade. A special mention to Alumasc and Blue Sky Design Services for their dedicated contribution in material supply and support, and design services respectively.”
