Social value: What we do

Making a positive difference to local communities is in our nature, here is how we leave a legacy to be proud of.

Shireland Collegiate Academy

For the last few years representatives from across our business have been involved in hosting educational workshops at the Shireland Collegiate Academy in Smethwick, alongside Grant Thornton UK LLP. We help deliver a School Enterprise Programme for their Year 7 students, giving them the opportunity to run their own microbusiness and develop financial and entrepreneurial skills through real-life experience.

Easter donations

The Myriad Centre

We have developed a close relationship with the Myriad Centre. Based in Worcester, near our head office, The Myriad Centre provide high quality, person-centred day respite services to support young people living with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD) and their families/carers. We've organised various donations including easter eggs and chocolate treats, monetary contributions and provided office furniture and chairs for a temporary unit.

Charity challenges

Each year, we organise a charity challenge for all our employees to participate in. Over the summer months, the challenge sees colleagues clocking up a huge number of miles by running, walking, cycling and more to reach the set target, whilst raising money for charitable causes. Over the last few years, the team has hit more than 50,000 miles and raised just under £10,000 for charity.

RSPCA volunteering

RSPCA

Over a two week period, our volunteers helped out a local RSPCA shelter to create a hard-standing area for a steel store to be built upon. We supplied plant, labour and materials to carry out a number of tasks including ground preparation and maintenance works, as well as creating some extra special furniture for some of the animals.
