VolkerLaser shortlisted for Construction News Specialist Awards
VolkerLaser has the privilege of being shortlisted for the honour of Structural Specialist of the Year at the Construction News Specialists Awards 2015.
With each passing year, the awards have seen a huge rise not only in the number of entries, but the quality of submissions; making VolkerLaser’s placement on the shortlist all the more merited.
VolkerLaser is unique in the sense that not only are we a major and principal contractor possessing a specialist skillset; but we are equally revered as the subcontractor of choice when it comes to challenging deliveries of major projects, such as our subcontract work on the Birmingham Tunnels (£4m - Amey); Queensway and St. Chad’s, as well as Woodhouse Tunnel in Leeds (£10m - Carillion) and London’s Blackfriars Bridge (£3m - Balfour Beatty).
The differing breadth of contracts we have won is impressive - from specialist work on the Victoria and Albert Museum for our build division, to our niche work, where we are carrying out the strengthening of Hammersmith Flyover as a subcontractor. In terms of major projects, we are delivering important projects up and down the country as principal contractor; from the £2 million refurbishment of Cleethorpes Road Overbridge in Grimsby and work at Leeds Bradford International Airport in the North, to the £2 million repair of Reading Bridge and a third phase of works at the University of East Anglia in the South.
The year has also seen great success providing EWI works to properties located in Nottingham, Dunfermline and Leicester (£7million, £5million and £1million respectively). This new sector for VolkerLaser places the importance of customer satisfaction at the forefront of our business now more than ever. We are delighted with what we have achieved.
To win the Construction News Specialists Award for Structural Specialist of the Year would be an amazing recognition of VolkerLaser’s incredible 20 year journey to becoming the market leader we are today.
The winner of the award will be announced at a the Construction News Specialists Awards 2015, held on Wednesday 18th March 2015 at the illustrious London Hilton on Park Lane.
