The proceeds from the annual fundraising event, which this year saw staff take a boat trip on the River Severn; were presented to the St Richard’s Hospice team on Wednesday 19 September.

St Richard’s Hospice provide free care and support to over 3,300 adults living with life-limiting illnesses and importantly their family members too. St Richard’s care is unique to each individual – whatever his or her physical, emotional or spiritual needs might be. The hospice team includes doctors, nurses, social workers, counsellors and therapists, all working alongside highly trained volunteers. Through care in the home, the In-patient Unit, Day Hospice and many different therapeutic support services, the hospice is able to help patients and families at a very difficult time.

The hospice is currently part way through their Build 2020 campaign, which is a £5.3m expansion and redevelopment project, aiming to build a bigger hospice to better support the current patients and reach the unmet needs of thousands of local people in the future.

The 2018 summer party was held on the MV Conway Castle, the largest passenger vessel on the River Severn, and received huge support from suppliers across the UK and local companies, who generously donated raffle prizes.

Special thanks go to: Menfor, Fosroc, Arnold Laver, Worcester Wolves, Worcester Warriors, Worcester Racecourse, Newbury Racecourse, Search Consultants, David Lloyd, Halfords, Keyline, VI Technology, Premier Print, Barrentine, Core Groundwork, A Plant, Sonic Scaffolding plus many more.
