The team working on the Whorlton Suspension Bridge has recently taken delivery of some very special artwork from Montalbo Primary School.
Over the last few weeks, students at the school have been getting crafty for a project given to them by our senior project manager, Chris McHutchison. He wanted each class to create a board showing something special in the local area, which once finished, would be displayed on the side of our workshop within the site compound.
Every class exceeded themselves, capturing everything from Raby Farm, and the Cow Green Dam, to the River Tees and Barnard Castle. The whole school contributed to one final board – the Whorlton Bridge itself.
On Friday 5 July, Chris was invited to attend the school assembly to see the finished boards and was delighted with the results.
“Seeing what the children at Montalbo Primary School created was even better than anything we could have expected. We’ve got the boards on site now and will be making them completely weatherproof before we display them on the outside of our workshop. A big thank you to the teachers for facilitating the creation of the boards, and a special thank you to all the children for being so creative.”
