Extending the life of vital infrastructure

Cleethorpes Road Overbridge is a 17 span concrete structure situated on the busy A180 over the main Grimsby to Cleethorpes railway line. The bridge provides essential access to both the seaside town of Cleethorpes and Grimsby Docks and is a valuable infrastructure asset to local communities and businesses. Works entailed the replacement of bearings and bridge joints, concrete repairs and coatings, resurfacing work, and the installation of a new bridge drainage system.

Integration and commitment of a team of specialists

The Cleethorpes Road Overbridge project involved the close collaboration between VolkerLaser, Cofely and North East Lincolnshire Council. All three parties worked together in order to provide a solution which would ensure the contract's completion successfully on time and to budget, whilst causing minimum disruption to local residents and businesses.

Successfully completed on 26 June 2015, continual communication and problem solving between the designers, contractors, client and consultants ensured the contract's delivery within budget and time constraints.
